Abundant Housing LA is excited to endorse Laura Friedman for Assembly District 44, representing the vibrant communities of North Glendale, Montrose, La Crescenta, Sunland-Tujunga, Shadow Hills, North Hollywood, Burbank, Toluca Lake, Studio City, Sherman Oaks, and Valley Village.
Assemblymember Friedman has demonstrated strong housing leadership through her bills AB 1401 and AB 2097, aiming to reform harmful, costly, and arbitrary minimum parking mandates. The Assemblymember steadfastly promoted the need for more housing production in her district through numerous presentations and messaging campaigns, and champions a vision of diverse, sustainable, and walkable neighborhoods. Her legislative work is focused on three primary areas: addressing the housing affordability and homelessness crisis, combating climate change, and protecting vulnerable communities.
During her time in the Assembly, she has secured $20 million in funding for the completion of the Glendale Riverwalk Project and authored a package of bills to create new avenues for communities to tackle the affordable housing crisis, encourage water conservation, strengthen environmental sustainability, protect communities against devastating wildfires, improve access to higher education and health care, and ensure that California’s foster youth have the support that they need as they transition to adulthood. For these reasons, Abundant Housing LA is proud to endorse Assemblymember Laura Friedman for State Assembly 44th District 2022.
