Abundant Housing LA is proud to endorse Tina McKinnor for Assembly District 61/62 – both in the special election and the primary election for a full term.  Tina has been a vocal champion for affording housing in her work as civic engagement director with L.A. Voice, and she recognizes the urgency of our housing and homelessness crisis. We are encouraged by her support for increasing housing supply (including by removing minimum on-site parking requirements) and protecting tenants from eviction.
Assembly District 62 includes Inglewood, Hawthorne, and Lawndale, which are communities particularly under pressure from rising costs of housing and gentrification. Due to redistricting, on December 5, 2022 this area will become Assembly District 61. Tina Mckinnor will appear on the ballot twice in the June 7th election, both for a Special General Election (triggered by the sudden resignation of Autumn Burke) and for the primary election to represent a new, full, two-year term to represent the new Assembly District 61.
Tina’s record of progressive grassroots activism encompasses a wide range of vital issues such as immigration and criminal justice. This will help her champion a pro-housing agenda with a broader coalition for long-overdue advances in equity. Her longstanding and deep roots in the community will be a powerful foundation from which to navigate increasingly tense debates over the right way forward.
