This week is all about Funny Neighbors!
But first, a quick reminder…
Santa Monica & LA’s city councils will hear housing elements this week
Housing elements determine housing affordability and fairness in these two job-rich cities. To learn more, visit our brand-new Online Action page.
You can take action for the geographic area where you live or work! This means if you work in LA but live elsewhere, you are still a stakeholder in LA’s housing element update process and are encouraged to take action on that.

Editorial: California is on the verge of flushing six yearsof housing progress down the toilet
San Francisco Chronicle
At issue is California’s Regional Housing Needs Assessment, colloquially known as “ree-na.” The details are complicated and obscure, filled with technocratic jargon and acronyms, which is largely why the devolution of this process has flown so dangerously under the radar. But make no mistake: This often incomprehensible program is the way California can most urgently address its housing shortage.
And it is in danger of collapsing.
