One of the worst consequences of the housing crisis is the displacement of countless families and individuals who are on the losing side of the competition for scarce housing. In LA, this destruction of communities for low-income families and families of color is unacceptable.
Action Item for This Week: Help us make suggestions to the Governor’s office and the California Department of Housing and Community Development for a more robust housing element that protects homes and communities. When people can live near their jobs and schools, avoiding mega-commutes, everyone wins!
Want to learn more about the Housing Element? Next week, Abundant Housing LA will be hosting a virtual workshop, giving you a chance to ask questions of experts in the field and to learn more about the housing element updates for the City of LA! Find more information and reserve your place here.
Tell state leaders what they can do to fight displacement and preserve homes for California’s most vulnerable groups!
