Happy Indigenous Peoples’ Day! We have a lot to celebrate today— last week, thanks to your advocacy, Governor Newsom signed a package of historic housing legislation that protects tenants, ends single family zoning, and puts guardrails in place against NIMBYism.
Action Item for This Week: LaTerra Burbank will create 573 new homes including 169 affordable units.
The mixed use project is in a great location, walkable to the Metrolink and shopping at the Burbank Town Center and the Empire Center. It is also close to extensive bus service on San Fernando, as well as the media district bus.

AHLA Responds to Denny Zane. We believe advocates of abundant housing and public transportation should work together to establish statewide standards to encourage more housing in places that give people the most ability to walk, bike, or take transit.
AHLA Letter to SCAG. We urge SCAG to adopt a new methodology without “local inputs” that achieves the stated goal of achieving socioeconomic equity with special attention to the needs of lower-income residents.
