People living in the center of LA create less than one-third the greenhouse gas emissions of people in the exurbs. Housing policy is climate policy!

Hear from our speakers about how housing density can reduce the footprint of our cities and reverse suburban sprawl, how we can make our cities more walkable and less car-dependent, and tackle traffic and long commutes.

The Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) wanted to set the region’s 10-year housing goal (RHNA target) at 400,000 units.

Thanks to your letters, Governor Newsom set the regional target at 1.3 million!

Now, we need to tell SCAG to allocate that number to job-rich areas near transit. Use this form to tell them to properly allocate the 1.3 million units!

We are excited by the higher target, but more zoned capacity won’t automatically translate to more homes. We will continue to advocate for upzonings and development without displacement.
